A Magazine Cover and Article Layout Design Project
Brief
The project's objective was to create a magazine cover as well as an article layout complete with suitable content for Sunway University's Department of Communication.
Target Audience
18 to 25-year-old students who are studying in Sunway University's Department of Communication and majoring in Communication or Advertising and Branding.

Magazine Cover
The magazine cover was designed with an emphasis on creating an approachable and relevant image, hence the overall "doodle" style and elements used. Colours used are bright and cheerful to indicate an optimistic outlook on the hybrid learning mode that was imposed back during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fonts, including the title and various headers, were chosen for their legibility and to suit the youthful audience.
Article Layout
The chosen article topic was "skills students can learn during the pandemic". A few skills were chosen, including crocheting, learning a new language, and drawing, before the article text was drafted. The layout was then designed centred around the article content as well as a casual scrapbook theme. To ensure cohesiveness across the cover and article design, the focus once again was to create a friendly yet playful look that students would be drawn to.
Process
The process included looking for inspiration, making sketches for both magazine cover and article layout. During the process, different colours, arrangements, and elements were considered to create a fun and lively layout.
